SUMMARY:Ten Trades Trail
DESCRIPTION:We’re launching an exciting new exhibition this September at Tudor House\, to coincide with Heritage Open Days. This year’s HODs theme is ‘Astounding Inventions’\, and we’ve got a special Tudor House twist on the theme. \nWe’ve been busy researching some of the former residents of the museum. As the buildings have been lived in – and worked in – since the sixteenth century\, there’s quite a lot to choose from! But we’ve picked ten families who lived here between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries who plied a trade\, or ran a business\, out of Tudor House. So come along and find out what it would have been like to be anything from a shoemaker to a shopkeeper\, a tailor to a tinsmith\, and plenty more besides. \nThere’s lots to find out\, and best of all – it’s completely free! The exhibition opens on 10 September.

Throughout the month\, you’ll be able to watch the film we made about his experiences as part of the exhibition. But for one very special afternoon\, Alec will also be here in person. You can ask him anything about what it was like to be evacuated! \nAlec will be here from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 25th September. The exhibition is free to visit\, but we do welcome all donations.
