Tales from Tudor House: Plague and Pestilence
Saturday, October 17, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeTo support our Young Adult writing competition, we’re hosting a talk with historian and team member, Anna Muggeridge, to explore further what it was like in Worcester during the 1637 Plague outbreak.
“Looms fell silent, grass grew in the streets, those of the population, able to do so, fled. They rigged canopies over boats and slept on the river or ‘did cobble shelters’ in the fields.”
Anna will discuss the ways residents coped with the situation, the impact on the city and the ways the local population tried to stop it from spreading. This event is hosted via Zoom and tickets are free!
