Textile Workshops with Louise Goult

Friday, April 27, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

£40

Tudor House Museum’s artist-in-residence, Louise Goult, will be running a series of structured workshops, exclusive to the museum and perfect for those keen to learn new techniques and create their own stunning pieces of textile art. At each one, attendees will learn new skills under her expert guidance and support.

2nd March – Stitching the Words. Use a favourite quote or poem as a starting point for this workshop, experimenting with different methods of transferring the words onto a piece of textile art unique to you and a perfect gift for Mother’s Day!

27th April – Sewing on Paper. Create a piece of work using layers of paper, fabric and stitching. An ideal re-purposing of old maps, cards and letters.

25th May – Inspired by Matisse. In this last workshop of her tenure, Louise will teach you how to use applique and stitch to create a piece of textile art inspired by the work of the French Post-Impressionist, Henri Matisse.

Workshops last from 10am to 1pm, and are priced at £40 each, including materials, tea (or coffee) and cake. Each participant is welcome to bring any materials they particularly want to work with. Book 3 workshops for a 30% discount! To book contact the office on 01905 612309 or email manager[@]tudorhouse.org.uk. Limited to 10 people per workshop.
